Chef Sonja Finn’s (Dinette) newest endeavor, The Café Carnegie, located at Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, now offers Chef Finn’s distinctive brunch menu on both Saturdays and Sundays. The Café opens at 10:30 a.m. on the weekends, and admission to the museum is not required in order to dine. Walk-ins are welcome, though reservations are always recommended.

The Café Carnegie opened in December 2016, quickly earning acclaim. The winter menu, presented for weekday lunch and meticulously executed by Chef de Cuisine Becca Hegarty (Dinette, Bread & Salt, Woodberry Kitchen), earned The Café Carnegie a listing in Pittsburgh Magazine’s Best New Restaurants of 2016.

Designed with the museum-goer in mind, the brunch dishes aim to satisfy, and energize. They showcase a commitment to impeccable locally sourced meats and produce. Hegarty’s daily fresh breads and pastries are transformed into offerings like French toast with bruléed triple cream brie and Meyer lemon compote, and a bocadillo (pressed sandwich of potato, spinach, and scallion frittata; young Manchego; and smoked paprika aioli). A full wine and beer list curated by Finn, along with an espresso bar, rounds out the experience, with Counter Culture coffee, mimosas, and one of the Burgh’s best Bloody Marys.

Both the new brunch menu and the daily lunch menu feature starters, entrees, desserts, and kid-friendly offerings made from scratch, thoughtfully prepared. Vegetarians and carnivores alike will find plenty of nourishing and creative choices on this New American menu.

Also new in 2017: a Thursday-evening small plates menu 5–8 p.m. Look for weekly specials.

The espresso and wine bar is open 8 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. weekends.
